BACKGROUND
Center for Rural Technology, Nepal (CRT/N) is a professional non-governmental organization engaged in developing and promoting appropriate/rural technologies effective in meeting the basic needs of the rural mass and improving their life support systems. Initially it was established in August 1989 under the Company Act. CRT/N has now been registered with His Majesty’s Government of Nepal (HMG/N) under the Society Registration Act from Oct. 1998. It is actively engaged in up-grading traditional technologies and also developing new technologies to make it more diversified and versatile to meet rural needs. The organization is actively engaged in up-grading traditional technologies and, at the same time, developing new technologies to make it more diversified and versatile to meet the rural needs.

 
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Ongoing activities related to sustainable tourism
Promotion of renewable energy and other appropriate rural technologies that keep environment clean and green and attract tourists. Such activities also help provide hygienic food and living space for the locals and tourists.


Geographic areas location (DDC/VDC) of ongoing activities
Bamtibhandar, Ramechhap; Pipaldanda and Humin, Palpa; Tankhuwa, Dhankuta; Siruwari in Syangja and many other places. Solar Cooker will be promoted in Manag and Mustang districts in the near future.
